Types of Services Funded

Whittier City School District receives ADA for students for all educational services including salaries, instructional materials, maintenance, transportation and capital expenses. In addition schools receive Categorical funds from Title I, Title V, LEP, School Improvement, Special Education, After School Intervention programs for those students in need, and School Library Funding. Phelan receives funding from Reading First that provides us with a Reading Coach.

Phelan received a grant from the Whittier Area Cultural Arts Foundation to provide funding for an art consultant who provides classes for all students. Phelan also received funding to train a cohort of five teachers through the FOSS science program.
