Lydia Jackson has received a Wonder of Reading Grant and a High Priority Grant to support student achievement in Language Arts and Math.  The Wonder of Reading Grant support the renovation and restocking of our library in 2006.  The High Priority Grant has supported teacher training and instructional aide training in the areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, and English Language Development.  These grants have had a positive impact on the success and achievement of Jackson students.
Lydia Jackson also has a new PE and Visuals Arts grants that are in the implementation planning stage.  The PE grant will be used to support Peaceful Playgrounds games.  A PE teacher will instruct the students twice a week.  Our visual arts program will be implemented by the Art Masters group.  Our students will study 6 artists per year for the next 4 years.
